Your chances are slim to non-existent. Sorry. I know this isn't what you want to read but your criminal background will cause you to fail the background check.

You stated that you were able to get your conviction expunged . . . but this expungement does NOT apply for law enforcement positions. You are required to disclose every single previous arrest. You are required to explain (in detail) every single arrest. And you will be required to describe the final disposition. Your criminal charges - even if the prosecutor had declined to prosecute - would have created some serious problems for you. Your only hope of passing the criminal background check under those conditions would have been to pass the polygraph as you claimed you hadn't committed any offenses.

Your situation is that you committed a fairly serious criminal offense as a teenager - and you pled guilty to the harassment charge. If you were a police officer, this information WOULD get to the criminal defense attorneys. And criminal defense attorneys would absolutely annihilate you on the witness stand. Police officers who are lightning rods for defense attorneys will be very unlikely to make arrests that will actually stick. Prosecutors will decline to prosecute your cases.

Your diagnosis could also cause you problems - particularly if you attempted to conceal this information. There is no reason, per se, that someone with Asperger's Syndrome could not be a police officer as long as you were able to perform the duties and responsibilities and as long as you were able to work appropriately and professionally with the public, your peers and superiors.

Your past medications could be problematic, but you didn't identify them so I can't say for certain.

But just based on your criminal history, I just don't see you being able to pass the background check or the polygraph.

as long as you're bodily extra healthy and could meet or exceed the actual standards to alter right into a police officer, your length shouldn't count. Drug use is a extreme count and could disqualify you. this relies upon very much on the police branch, as each police branch has diverse standards. many times, for marijuana, a minimum of five years could desire to have handed between the main cutting-edge time you smoked marijuana and the time you're using to alter right into a police officer. some police departments have an excellent bigger quantity of time, many times 7 or 10 years. this suggests in case you only at the instant stopped smoking marijuana it could be a minimum of five years, possibly much extra, earlier you additionally can initiate using to alter right into a police officer. criminal justice is a sturdy considerable while you're easily specific you will enter the sector of regulation enforcement, yet while there is any threat you could pass right into a diverse profession i could recommend switching majors. outdoors of the "regulation" (judges, cops, probation officers, correctional officers) a criminal justice degree has little or no importance. often, with the intention to alter right into a police officer, you in basic terms could desire to have a level - it would not generally could desire to be a criminal justice or criminology degree. The utilising citations should not be a controversy as long as you do no longer receive any extra considerable citations (dashing in far extra than 30 over the shrink, reckless utilising, DUI, etc.) over the subsequent a number of years. often police departments look back 3-4 years while reviewing applicants' utilising documents, so that is mandatory that over here couple of years, you tension as heavily as a threat. stable success!

It depends. The charges and convictions you mentioned won't disqualify you from ever becoming a police officer. However, getting police officer jobs is becoming more and more competitive. Any red flags can hurt your chances of getting hired. Your chances of getting hired, could depend on things such as what police department(s) you apply with, when you apply, how severe your Asperger's syndrome is, whether or not you can pass a department's medical examination and psychological evaluation, and how well you do on written tests and during interviews. It is great that you are getting a college degree. Getting a college degree is one of the best things that you can do.
