I use to live in North FL and I recently moved back to home in South FL i was making $9 an hr and when i got my transfer every one was making minimum wage and some how everyone found out how much i was making and now my hours are being cut because of it. I went for 30-35 hrs a week to 15 hrs is there anything i could do bout it? I even heard the ***.Manager saying that because i make too much it isn't fair to the other employees. But can they say how much people make an hour to the other employees? Please tell me that i can do something about it?

They can cut your hours, but at least they haven't cut your pay. I'd suggest getting a second job if you're finding it harder to live with the money you're on. Often companies know how to get around stuff like this.

There is nothing illegal about changing your hours, rate of pay or even not scheduling you at all. However, if you are in a "protected class" (minority, woman, handicapped, etc) and your hourly rate is substantially less than others in your company who are doing the same job, it's time to have a conversation with the government agency in FL that oversees wage law. the other thing you can do is find another job to take up the free time you have now, or just outright quit.

Also, it's not illegal to talk about your wages, it's just stupid for your manager to do so - and might be a violation of company policy (check your handbook).

It doesn't get any better as you become educated and get higher paying jobs, either. Then they want to downsize anyone who has been there many years and has worked hard to get good performance reviews and makes a decent salary. They'd rather let you go and hire a college grad who will work for half the salary, or better yet send the work to India where they work for peanuts. Some companies aren't even ethical enough to downsize you so that you can collect unemployment, but instead make you miserable enough that you leave on your own. Unless your human resources department can help (most of them are a joke and always have the company's interests at heart, not yours) you might as well freshen up your resume and get out.

You don't give enough information to answer the question. The question depends upon the nature & identity of the company for which you work as well as whether you work under a contract. As to whether they can tell other employees how much you make, again, the answer depends upon the company & line of work. For instance, everything about a government job is public record.

there is no law other than minimum wage that says how much you make, anything over minimum wage is between you and the employer, he can raise or lower at his discretion, there is nothing you can do

It is illegal to tell other employees how much you make but it is legal for them to cut your hours because you make more. they can claim they are just cutting expenses.
