Is there a limit to how long an employee can be considered Temp in CA?

I've heard CA law requires after 6 months a Temp must be either hired as a full time employee or let go? Is this correct?

they can keep you a temp forever if they like there is no law that says they cant.
as CA is an at will state if you did force their hand as you put it they could fire you the next day

And where did you hear that? No, not true.
And what does "temp" have to do with "full time" anyway? There are full and part time employees - the company defines just what that means, if they use the classification at all. And CA is an employment at will state, so "temp" really has no meaning anyway.

No, there is no law in California or any federal law that says a company must convert someone from a temp. position to full time. There are industries that utilize temporary/seasonal labor for long periods of time. Transportation is an example. It is legal.

No it is not, especially if they work through an agency. However it is illegal to misclassify an employee as a contractor.
