There are a dozen issues under privacy rights (Privacy Act) and employee rights (Civil Rights Act, ADA, ADEA, Human Rights violations) even if someone were willing to advise you (I would) it would take up over 100 pages since you are not stating specifically what you are looking for or offering any examples.

I tried googling employee privacy rights and found many sites dedicated to this issue. If you need information for a paper, you'll find what you need, or if you're asking because you need to know your own rights, you can choose a site which addresses your state, as some of this differs from state to state.

Your state's department of labor should be able to give you all the information you need, without the expense of a lawyer. They are there to help employees from being taken advantage of by unscrupulous employers. If there is a specific concern you have, they can probably even talk to you personally about it without you having to worry about your employer finding out.
