I was sent a contract to sign and asked to initial all pages. Do I initial on the left bottom or right bottom of pages.

Thanks

Hi Jen, I would always initial or sign a document as close to the last full stop on each page. That way nothing can be added afterwards. Usually in cases where you are asked to sign or initial in a specific place they will have marked those places. I hope this answer is of some help Darl and all goes well with whatever the contract is for!

On things like wills the legal secretary who types it up usually marks a line for you to initial on. But I'd say toward the right bottom of each page except the last page where you would be expected to sign your entire name and probably in front of a notary. Signing at the bottom of the page would signify that you read the entire page, and it's easiest to see if it's near the bottom on the right hand side of the page.

Good advice about initialing after the last full stop. However, to be legal, it doesn't really matter where you initial.

For your own protection, make photo copies of everything before you return the contract.

Yes indeed I fully agree, near the last full stop would be best in a diagonal manner in the bottom corner margin.

All the best
