I am graduating with an Industrial Engineering degree, I am also going to graduate with an MBA because of my university's program. Does anyone have any insight on whether or not I should go directly into the engineering field or if it would be worth it to go to law school with my engineering degree. I am very interested in both fields and love both, so its not about the money but I am curious whether it would be worth it to go into corporate or patent law after graduating with my engineering degree. Thanks!

If you are VERY interested in patents, it's a valuable field to go into. There's a shortage of qualified patent lawyers (I mean ones with a suitable engineering or CS background), and your industrial engineering degree will be very valuable. Patent lawyers also make a lot more money than engineers do.

There isn't a HUGE shortage of corporate lawyers, so I wouldn't suggest going for that.

That said, you might want to try working for a while before applying to law school. It's easier to do IP law if you have some field experience.

Both are different fields. You should select one.
