should I answer yes or no to this question? .
I am an international student on an F-1 visa , applying for an internship with an american company. I don't need sponsorship for the internship , but i guess i can't work indefinitely for the company .

If it's a computerized application and you can only answer yes or no, I guess you ought to say yes, because in the future, you will require it for employment.

On the other hand, that could make the computer automatically reject your application. If there is anywhere at all to put a comment, then answer no and explain in the comment that sponsorship is not required for the internship, but that you would require it for future employment.

I guess you're better off putting no even if you can't comment. You can always explain if you get an interview, and just say that you didn't want to be rejected automatically.

I don't completely agree with the previous answer. If you are employement authorized in the US, you have one of several types of document: -US passport -Green Card -EAD Employment Authorization Document If you have one of these, you do not require sponsorship for employment visa status.

First of all, I'm not a big fan of this question because it opens the door to possible National Origin discrimination. I recommend asking:"Are you currently authorized to work in the U.S.?"

That being said, you need to indicate Yes. If there is further room to explain the situation you should state that you can work while on CPT and OPT status. During the interview you should again clarify your situation.
