I have a friend who has a law degree and works in Hospital Administration. I think a law degree is very well respected in the workforce even when you are not practicing law. Go on Careerbuilder, Monster, Yahoo Jobs and post a resume with a law degree and your will proably find a good job. Also, I read somewhere that many individuals who go to law school do not even practicing law 10 years later.
Quote:
"Competition for job openings should continue to be keen because of the large number of students graduating from law school each year. Graduates with superior academic records from highly regarded law schools will have the best job opportunities. Perhaps as a result of competition for attorney positions, lawyers are increasingly finding work in nontraditional areas for which legal training is an asset, but not normally a requirement—for example, administrative, managerial, and business positions in banks, insurance firms, real estate companies, government agencies, and other organizations. Employment opportunities are expected to continue to arise in these organizations at a growing rate."

Many people with law degrees go on to be involved in politics. They are also highly sought after in law enforcement fields such as the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security. They work privately for corporations doing legal research. With a law degree, there are so many options open to a person, it's very difficult to list them all. Any advanced degree is going to be a value to you in any chosen profession. It will also help you to transition from one career to another.

Pretty much almost anything, I work for a hospital and the corporate compliance officer has a law degree. I am in the same position as you. I want to get my JD but do not want to practice.
