It's good that you're asking before enrolling, Maverick - but consider talking to potential employers in your area to find out what their hiring preferences are. If they require a program that is approved by the American Bar Association, no online program will do - the ABA hasn't approved any. Find out if there are there any areas of specialization that are especially marketable in your area - immigration, bankruptcy, or family law (or some other)? Begin networking for a job early, and continue to do so as you study. You're letting the tail wag the dog if you graduate first, then look around to see who will accept that certificate or degree.

Before enrolling, ask the school about their job placement programs and success rate - i.e. how many of their graduates are actually working in the law field (not merely serving fries to lawyers). After enrolling, use the school's resources to enlarge your networking efforts by talking to your professors, counselors, and helpful alumni - use their professional networks to enlarge your own networking efforts.

Good luck with it.

I am going to an online college myself right now i am going to University of Phoenix and I love it my classes are Only 5 weeks long and there is a lot of information that needs to be learned in that time period i would only do it if you think it is the right thing for you. It is fast pace and it does take a lot of work. I wouldn't do online for Masters degree because most jobs require certain things and not all online colleges can give you the qualifications that you need i would check with what is required for the paralegal profession and make sure that the college you want to attend will give you everything that is needed. Like for what i want to do i have to be licensed and i can't get that online because i have to do internships. So just be careful

The "graduate" of an online program may have done nothing but hire an impostor to take the courses. As a result, ANY online program is considered dubious -even if from a legit school. There is a growing trend for schools to code transcripts and degrees to indicate whether the program was online, blended, or actual classroom based, so employers should question this. Employers often automatically reject job applicants listing any online program. No online program can be as good as the learning experience and personal interaction of actual classroom attendance.

There is an old saying that the "distance learning" stuudent only learns how to be distant from any decent learning!

BU is a good school as far as Mass state schools go.

An online degree has no less validity than otherwise. No one will know that you took the class

online unless you tell them.
