Hi,

I am applying for a job that I worked at 20 years ago. If I put on the application that I never worked there, will they find out? There is no one there that will remember me. I don't remember if I left on good terms, but I really need this job.'
Thanks

It really depends on the processes of the company and what the information is needed for.

My dad left a job when I have about 5, I worked for the same company in the HR technology department and his records are still available. I was over 35 when I started working there. (over 30 years).

Some companies purge records every 7 years (tax record requirement).

Some companies purge records when they run out of space or implement new technology.

Some companies never purge records.

After twenty years I doubt it. To be honest, the rules and regs have likely changed so much that you might as well have never worked there.

i doubt it. there is a very good chance it won't be .

just leave it off your resume and don't say anything if you want.
